On January 26 and 27, 2026, in Rabat, Morocco, the 1st Pedagogy Congress of the Mohammed VI Center for Applied Pedagogy in Health Sciences (CM6PASS) at the Université Mohammed VI des Sciences de la Santé (UM6SS) was held.
Held under the theme “Health Sciences Pedagogy in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: Practices and Challenges,” this event brought together educators, researchers, and health professionals to discuss major transformations taking place in health sciences. The congress addressed key topics such as the role of the teacher in the digital age, pedagogical uses of artificial intelligence, simulation, psychosocial skills, and formative assessment.
Through conferences, workshops, and experience-sharing sessions, the discussions highlighted a shared ambition: to evolve pedagogical practices in order to strengthen the quality of health sciences education.
“I had the pleasure of participating in the congress, a particularly enriching experience both pedagogically and scientifically. The plenary sessions, led by Moroccan and international experts, provided a comprehensive view of the transformations that artificial intelligence is bringing to health sciences education, while the workshops offered interactive and practical spaces for exchanging ideas around innovative practices. These workshops allowed me to discover new tools, reflect on the integration of AI in teaching, and connect with colleagues who share the same pedagogical concerns.” — Nadia Errafiy, Professor at Université Mohammed VI des Sciences de la Santé.

The Université de Montréal was well represented by a delegation of five professors from the Faculty of Medicine. Invited as speakers and workshop facilitators, Marie-Paule Morin, Ahmed Moussa, Louis-Philippe Thibault-Lemyre (Department of Pediatrics), Claude-Julie Bourque (Department of Family and Emergency Medicine), and Vincent Jobin (Department of Medicine at the Centre hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal (CHUM)), all shared their expertise.
“It was a great honor for me to be invited as a speaker to this inaugural congress. It is the fruit of collaborative work and exchanges that have been underway for several years now. It was impressive to witness the large number of people mobilized, both in organizing the congress and among the participants—professors, professionals, and students. The plenary sessions and workshops were scientifically rich, enabling thoughtful, lively, and very inspiring exchanges. And what can I say about the hospitality! The Moroccan team welcomed us in grand style, and we had the pleasure of fully enjoying their warm and welcoming hospitality.” — Ahmed Moussa, Full Professor, Faculty of Medicine – Department of Pediatrics.
The technical support provided by the USI, in partnership with CPASS and CRPS at the Université de Montréal, is part of a collaboration agreement with the Fondation Mohammed VI des Sciences et de la Santé, which aims to support the development of training and innovation in health sciences.
This initiative reflects the USI’s commitment to building meaningful partnerships in areas of training, research, and capacity building.
Following the facilitation of several modules dedicated to digital animation techniques and pedagogical simulation, the congress marks a new key milestone in the Morocco–Canada academic collaboration. This momentum will continue in the coming months with additional thematic modules delivered as part of the University Diploma (DU) in Applied Pedagogy in Health Sciences at UM6SS:
• Innovative and Participatory Teaching Activities: Techniques for Facilitating Instruction (March 27–28, 2026)
• Innovative Technologies (June 19–20, 2026)
