Mission of the USI
Our mission: Improving population health in low and middle income countries
USI is a significant Canadian francophone university center attached to the ESPUM. It aims to improve population health in low-and middle-income countries. With its 35 years of commitment and expertise in global health, the USI focuses on reducing inequalities by strengthening health systems and local governance. It promotes a partnership-based, interdisciplinary approach focused on empowerment, development, and knowledge transfer.
Since 1989, the work of the USI has supported ministries, training institutions, hospitals and health centres, as well as civil society organizations and communities.
Together, we are improving clinical and institutional practices for better governance in global health.
