Mission of the USI

The International Health Unit (Unité de santé internationale – USI) is a major francophone Canadian university centre dedicated to global health expertise.

Our mission: to contribute to improving the health of populations in developing and transitional countries.

Aligning with sustainable development goals and ensuring equity, the USI works collaboratively with communities and health networks, and in partnership with government authorities, to improve the health of populations. Using innovative approaches, the USI aims to strengthen health systems by offering technical support in different regions of the world.

Since 1989, the work of the USI has supported ministries, training institutions, hospitals and health centres, as well as civil society organizations and communities.

Together, we are improving clinical and institutional practices for better governance in global health.
